Dogs

Calling all dogs...and their owners!

We have lots of fun and entertainment at the show, for owners and their dogs.

Join the Companion Dog Show classes or the BASC Team Challenge, winning rosettes and prizes in all sorts of competitions. Visit the Veterinary Advice Clinic or watch the Agility Display Team and the terrier racing.

All dogs are very welcome to the Fair as long as they are on a lead and well behaved!

The BASC Team Challenge for Retrievers will take place during the Fair on Monday 31st May 2010.

Terrier Racing

In the Main Ring with a display and an opportunity for you and your dog to 'have a go...'.

Gun Dog Scurries, sponsored by BASC, Chudleys Dog Foods and Chesterton Humberts

Timed retrieves:

  1. Two Marked Retrieves
  2. 'Pick and Mix'
  3. 'Over the Bales'

The Victor Ludorum Trophy will be awarded to the dog with the fastest time over all 3 scurries (enter on the day). Sponsored by BASC, Chudleys Dog Foods and Chesterton Humberts there will be prizes to third place in each for novice and open dogs and a best overall young handler prize.

Agility Dog Show

The Agility Display Team put their highly trained animals through their paces and give advice on any problems you might be having training your dog.

Companion Dog Show

Kennel Club Licensed, organised by Alison Lock.

Entries for Pedigree Classes on site at 10:30am, judging from 11.30am and Novelty Classes on site from 10.30am, judging from 2 pm. Sadly not all dogs are eligible, puppies under six months or dogs which have already won Challenge Certificates or Reserve Challenge Certificates or Junior Warrants cannot enter this competition.

Veterinary Advice Clinic

Dr Mark Newton-Clarke MRCVS is the Fair's official small animal Veterinary Surgeon and has a stand with displays giving health and nutrition advice. Perfect Paws' owned by Alison Lock is also part of the clinic, giving grooming advice and clipping your pet's claws! For further information contact Alison on 01935 817744.

As part of the clinic Carole Turner's Cottonfields Canine Massage gives taster sessions of canine massage therapy; excellent for helping older animals stay mobile or for animals that enter competitions or agility displays/competitions.
